Few days ago, an attack was carried out by unknown Gunmen in Imo State against the home of the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma. The Governor' s home was attacked and burned down and two Police officers who were attached to the building were also killed. Other than the Governor' s house being attacked, policemen, police stations and other government facilities, including the Owerri Correctional Centre, were also targeted in the attacks in Imo State.

Few days ago Vanguard Newspaper made a report of several persons being arrested in connection to the recent arrests in the state with their ring leader identified as Izuchukwu Ohaeri a 31 years old man who is a native of Isiwenke, Amakohia in Ihitte Uboma local government area of Imo state. The sponsor behind the deadly attacks has also been caught and arrested and he has been identified as Nnamdi Okafor.
The suspect according to reports has been monitored for a few days now after information reached the Nigerian Security Operatives that he was the alleged financier of the recent attacks in Imo State which led to various loss of police lives and Government Properties.
The 42 years old man is a native of Amanachi community in Orsu local government area of Imo state and information by Sahara Reporters is that the suspect until his arrest was a director of Pecubel Hotel in Imo State and also an owner of a pharmaceutical outlet in Lagos State. Nnamdi Okafor was arrested in April, around lifeline Assembly in Aboha- Ohi along Owerri Orlu road in Imo State.
