According to Sahara reporters on Twitter, it was reported that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has ordered a total shut down of the entire ' Biafraland' on May 30.
Kanu disclosed this in a statement released by the spokesman of IPOB, Emma Powerful on Sunday.
According to the IPOB leader, there would be a sit- at- home order across Biafraland, Lagos, Abuja as well as northern towns with reasonable Biafran population.
He urged Christians in the North to also sit- at- home.
However, Nigerians reacted massively on Twitter.
See how Nigerians reacted on Twitter below.
@daniel: What happened during the EndSARS protests is prove enough that the govt is wicked; I won' t advise any IPOB member to shutdown anywhere on May 30th cos things could go south and people may get killed. Nigeria is already in chaos, pls no- one should put his or her life on the line.
@audu: On that day, he will go round houses of those that obey the order to repay whatever they may lose for not going out and also share food to those going out to hustle for their daily bread. Please I want to ask, between Nnamdi Kanu and his followers who is more foolish?
@ikem: Please lets play down any protest or shutdown. The government has killed alot at every point of such actions.
We all need to just be patience and see how the present dispensation ends before taking any action. We don' t want more people dead. And you' re not in the country even.
@ayan: This is how Kanu will test his followership. Already, he has men with guns in the form of ESN in the east. In the guise of wading away Fulani terrors, these ESN was give support by some people. I' m concerned he won' t use same ESN to bully and terrorise those with diff opinion.
