It is disheartening to realize that many of us are as ignorant about our presidents as we are about our musicians and artists. However, in this article, you will learn about the only Nigerian Presidents who have served since 1999 who have never attended a university outside of the country.
Presidents " of timber and calibre" have presided over Nigeria since 1999, each of whom has contributed to the advancement of the country in one way or another through their intellectual contributions.
These intellectual inputs are the result of the school or schools that they attended during the time period in which they were pursuing their education. Only two of Nigeria' s four presidents have ever studied anywhere else than their home country. One is still alive, but the other, unfortunately, has passed away. The following is a list of their names, as well as the various schools they attended.
Umaru Musa Yar' Adua Unlike the vast majority of well- to- do people who study abroad, the late President received his entire education in Nigeria. In 2011, he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria with a bachelor' s degree in Education and Chemistry. In addition, he received his Master' s degree in Analytical Chemistry from the same institution.
Wishing you success, Eberechukwu Jonathan: He is the first and only living Nigerian President since 1999 to have never attended a school outside of his home country.
He received his bachelor' s degree in Zoology from the University of Port- Harcout, where he had been studying.
He also received his Masters degree from the same institution, as well as his Doctorate in Zoology from the same institution.
For the record, the other two Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari, happened to attend the same school, albeit at different times, and were classmates. In fact, it wasn' t a university at all, but a military training facility.
The school is called " Mons Officer Cadet School" and it is located in Aldershot, England. It was not, however, the only school that they attended.
It is critical that Nigerian students understand that studying abroad is not required in order to be successful. This article will help them to understand this. Despite the fact that you are studying in Nigeria, you can still become the great and successful person you want to be.
Whatever institution you obtained your degree from, the only thing that matters is your ability to apply what you have learned to its best advantage. I hope you found this article to be informative.
